In Scaledeep, the core engine powering every descent into its ever‑shifting depths is our Storylines—self‑contained narrative arcs that give each run a clear purpose. You won’t just wander an endless labyrinth or chase some fix win condition; instead, each playthrough begins with a freshly chosen tale that unfolds against randomly generated corridors, traps, and lairs. Whether you’re delving into cursed catacombs to find the lost expedition or hunting down a legendary relic to save a besieged village (or for your own benefit), every Storyline brings its own cast of characters, objectives, and surprising twists—so no two dungeon runs ever feel alike.

At the start of every run, you’re presented with the Storyline Selector, a magical book that picks one of twenty stories to set your goal. A short description appears—presenting you with your current goal. Once your story is chosen, the dungeon shifts to match: you’ll meet new encounters, find specific treasures, and trigger special events tied to that tale.

Here are three of the twenty Storylines you might uncover in Scaledeep—just a taste of the adventures waiting below. We’re keeping the other seventeen under wraps to preserve the element of surprise!

The Lost Expedition

Years ago, a team of explorers vanished deep within Shadowdepths—one of them was someone you’d sworn to protect. Now, without any clues you descend into darkness in search of answers. Every step brings you closer to their fate…and to whatever mysteries they uncovered in the deep.

The Artifact Hunter

Legend whisper about a powerful artifact hidden deep in the Shadowdepths—one said to have the magic to bend reality. To find it, you’ll wander through old ruins, dodge traps, and solve puzzles left by a long‑gone civilization. Other hunters are after the same prize, so you’ll need to move fast. Your goal is simple: reach the artifact, escape and write your name in history books.

The Forlorn Spirit

You’ve been haunted by the adventurer’s ghost in your dreams, pleading for peace. To help—and find some closure yourself—you venture into the Shadowdepths, picking through abandoned camps and finding torn journal pages as clues. You’ll run into visions and old curses, but as you piece together their eerie story, you’ll finally lay that restless spirit to rest.
