Scaledeep

Storylines

In Scaledeep, the core engine powering every descent into its ever‑shifting depths is our Storylines—self‑contained narrative arcs that give each run a clear purpose. You won’t just wander an endless labyrinth or chase some fix win condition; instead, each playthrough begins with a freshly chosen tale that unfolds against randomly generated corridors, traps, and lairs. Whether you’re delving into cursed catacombs to find the lost expedition or hunting down a legendary relic to save a besieged village (or for your own benefit), every Storyline brings its own cast of characters, objectives, and surprising twists—so no two dungeon runs ever feel alike.

Choose Your Hero

Take on the role of a lone hero who tries to descend into the unknown depths of the twisted mazes and caverns of Shadowdepths. Rumor says, there is a vast knowledge and riches hidden in the hearth of depths. There is no written documentation or maps from survivors who dared to enter the mazes and escape alive; at least, no rumors match what you can find down there. Except for one: the mazes are always different. Walls and corridors change, and horrors of every size and shape lurk in the dark, waiting for their next prey.

How to Live

  • Find your playing style. You can be pure archer, or warrior who throws magic into face of enemies in close combat, or wizard clerk, or…name it…
  • Dual wield sword and bow. Or any other melee and ranged weapons. No penalties for that!
  • Be a blacksmith and fix your armor and weapons during your journey.
  • Gather herbs and be a powerful alchemist. Or be apprentice alchemist and make only things that blow up.
  • Or just be Jack-Of-All-Trades and be everything listed above!

How To Die

  • Drown
  • Open things you shouldn’t
  • Break your neck falling through a hole
  • Die of plague
  • Get possessed by the Lich Lord
  • Read a cursed book
  • Get bashed to death
  • Be dissolved by acid
  • …and many more yet to be discovered
